In the 3-4 odd play where rather Right OLB is blitzed, followed by a QB contain, doesn’t that take the blitz away, as the olb is the contain?
The player is still blitzing, just containing QB while blitzing. Also, doing that keeps the RE from being the QB contain and makes him a free blitzer. If you just did QB contain without blitzing the ROLB, the RE would be in QB contain. Basically, you’re still adding a blitzer even with QB contain.
