The Nickel 2-4-5 Prowl is a good formation that provides good pass coverage. However, if you are calling plays from the Nickel formation they should mostly be in the 2-4-5 DBL A-Gap formation and occasionally the 3-3-5 Wide.
Playbook: San Francisco 49ers
Formation: Nickel 2-4-5 Prowl
Play: Cover 2 Drop
Setup:
- Base Align
Overview: This play does a great job of taking away just about everything underneath. It is vulnerable against the run and on deep passes.
Playbook: San Francisco 49ers
Formation: Nickel 2-4-5 Prowl
Play: Prowl Bear Blitz
Setup:
- Keep pressing base align (Y+right on XBOX One) or (triangle + right on PS4)
Overview: This is going to create a linebacker shake effect where your linebackers are all moving before the snap which will let them get a jump on the snap. This can confuse people when they see all the movement. Only use this occasionally. It usually provides decent pressure but it is vulnerable to the deep pass.
Playbook: San Francisco 49ers
Formation: Nickel 2-4-5 Prowl
Play: FS Zone Blitz
Setup:
- Base Align
- Shift your defensive line to the left
- Crash the defensive line down
Overview: The pressure should come from the left side of the screen. This play is pretty consistent but you are really overloading the left side of the screen so be aware that an aware QB might rollout to the right.
sorry…you may have gone over it and I may have missed it. What are good formations/plays that can stop the four verticals and or someone going deep. Having trouble with that. Thanks.
Any sort of cover 2 man defense.
im having a hard time finding 2-4-5 prowl formation on ps4. there is 2-4-5 formation in sf playbook but the top 2 plays in this section are not there from what i can see… looking in all plays section of custom playbooks also and not there…
