Playbook: New York Jets
Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: Stick
Setup:
- Use the Strong Slots package
- Put your X/square receiver on an out route
- Put your Y/triangle receiver on a fade route
- Put your B/circle receiver on a streak route
- Put the A/X receiver on whatever route you would like
Reads:
- Your first read is your Y/triangle receiver deep against a cover 3 defense. Lead pass to the left sideline
- If he is covered, look to the A/X receiver
Overview: If you see a cover 3 defense pre-snap, you know that you can call this play and get 40+ yards or a touchdown. The great thing about this concept is that it can be done out of any tight formation in the game.

Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: PA Seam
Setup:
- None required
- (Optional) Put the B/circle receiver on a streak route
Reads:
- The X/square receiver will get open against any defense in Madden 18 as long as your opponent doesn’t user defend it
- If he is covered, throw to one of your receivers in the flat
Overview: You will want to mix this play in once you have established the cover 3 beater from this formation. This will make your opponent key in on the left side of the screen and it will open up the right.

Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: PA Seam (Part 2)
Setup:
- Put your running back or A/X receiver on an out route and motion him to the left
- Put your Y/triangle receiver on a fade route
Reads:
- Your first read is the Y/triangle route on the cover 3 beater deep

Overview: This play combines the cover 3 beating concept with the route coming over the middle of the field that beats all of the different coverages.

- Put your Y/triangle receiver on a fade route

- If it isn’t cover 3, look to your running back in the flat first
- Then look to the B/circle receiver if he is covered
Overview: This is another good play that beats most coverages in the game.

Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: PA Stop
Setup:
- Put your X/square receiver on an out route
- Put your Y/triangle receiver on a fade route
- Put your B/circle receiver on a streak
Reads:
- Against cover 2 defenses, you can fit it in to your B/circle receiver over the middle (lead pass inside)
- Against cover 3 defenses, you still have your Y/triangle receiver
- You can also playmaker your X/square receiver up the field
Overview: We are continuing to build on our concept by playmakering the X/square receiver up the field by rolling out a little to the left and pressing the right stick up twice to get our X/square receiver open.
Playbook: New York Jets
Formation: Gun Tight Slots
Play: Mesh
Setup:
- (Optional) Block the running back or put him on a curl route
Reads:
- Look to one of the receivers on the drag routes
Overview: This play is really important to keep your opponent honest so he can’t blitz you or user a deep safety to take away our deep pass.

Setup:
- Put your outside receiver on a fade
- Put your inside receiver on a streak
Reads:
- Lead pass towards the sideline (away from the safety) to the receiver on the fade route

- If it is a cover 3, pass it to your Y/triangle receiver (pass lead outside)
Overview: This play beats any coverage but we are showing it against a cover 2 defense in this video.
this is fire
Glad you like it man!
I don’t see this formation in custom. these plays seem to be split between gun tight offset and gun tight slot open
Pa stop also can’t find anywhere
Found the. They under snugs flip in custom
Are there any recommended running plays from this formation? Everything looks to be passing in the guide.
HB Quick Base is a good one
Do you use strong slots package for all plays or just the first one?
We use strong slots for all of the plays
Also would cover 3 match counter these cover 3 beaters? That seam flat would play man on the second receiver all the way up the field right?
Cover 3 match does not stop these cover 3 beaters because you are lead passing outside and the seam flat plays him inside.
Awesome, thanks, great work!
What’s a good qb to use this with in mut?
Any QB with over 90 throw power and over 80 deep accuracy
I don’t see a way to switch to “strong” formation on my screen (online MUT). I am sure I’m missing something. Help. please?
Thanks!
“Strong Slots” package I mean….
You use the right stick at the screen where it says “gun tight slots” You hit the right stick to the right a few times until it says, “Strong Slots”
I think they’ve patched the blue zone being held down by the out route in cover 3, they are going to the fade route now. Can still throw it sometimes, but not broken/wide open as shown in the videos here. This also seems to open up the out route a bit, obviously
I just went ahead and double checked, it still works like it should after the patch
Your setups work when the ball is positioned in the middle of the field but aren’t as effective when the ball is on the hashes. Most of the time the ball will be on one hash or the other unless it’s 1st & 10 at the start of a series & you don’t return the kickoff…
They should work on either side of the field as well as in the middle of the field.
Looks like the new patch takes the scheme away…the corners are not biting on the out route, they’re staying with my y receiver
It is fully tested to work with the new patch. If the Y/triangle receiver gets bumped at the line of scrimmage, it may not work
I can confirm it’s still working for me.
