Play: HB Wheel

Setup:

1. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route

Reads:

1. The first read on this play is the B/O receiver on the drag route
2. Then look for the RB/R1 running back on the table route
3. If that is not there look for the A/X tight end on the corner route
4. Next, progress to the X/Square receiver on the post
5. Finally, there is the Y/Triangle running back on the wheel route that you can hit short or wait until he is deeper

Overview: This is one of the money plays from the Split Close formation, this play can beat any type of coverage that the opponent puts out on the field. Be sure to take what the defense gives you because the underneath routes can turn into huge gains in this game.

1. Put the B/O receiver on an out route and smart route him
2. Block the Y/Triangle running back
3. Put the A/X tight end on a drag
4. Motion the B/O receiver out to the right

Reads:

1. The main target on this play is going to be the X/Square receiver deep on the post
2. If that is not there look for the A/X tight end as a check down
3. Lastly, check down to the RB/R1 running back

Overview: On this play we breakdown a Cover 3 beater that will beat this defense in one play usually for a touchdown. As shown in the video the out route is going to bring down the outside third leaving the post wide open.

Overview: Even though this is mostly a passing formation for us we do not want to get one dimensional. Mix this run in to keep your offense balanced in this formation.

Setup:

1. Put the B/O receiver on a drag route

Reads:

1. The quick read will be the B/O receiver on the drag route
2. Then look for the X/Square receiver on the deep crossing route
3. Finally, find the A/X tight end on his crossing route

Overview: This is one of the most effective passing plays in this formation. The X/Square receiver’s crossing route is very difficult to cover. Also the opponent cannot run man coverage against this play.

Play: PA Y Shot (Pt. 2)

Setup:

1. Put the B/O receiver on a streak
2. Put the A/X tight end on a hitch

Reads:

1. The main target here will be the X/Square receiver on the deep crossing route
2. If that is not there look to the tight end on the hitch route, you can also playmaker the hitch to an open area of the field

Overview: This setup gives us options with the tight end on the hitch because we can playmaker the tight end to an open area of the field. Once we see where our opponent’s user is we can playmaker the tight end the opposite way.

Setup:

1. Put the X/Square receiver on a streak
2. Put the B/O receiver on a drag

Reads:

1. The first read on this play is the B/O receiver on the drag
2. Then look for the Y/Triangle running back on the angle route
3. Finally, find the A/X tight end on the post route

Overview: Another deadly passing play in this formation, the streak on the left side of the field is going to clear out space for the tight end on the post to be wide open. Then we also have the running back on an angle route in the middle of the field as well.

Setup:

1. Put the B/O receiver on a slant route
2. Put the A/X tight end on a drag
3. Motion the B/O receiver to the left

Reads:

1. The first read will be the B/O receiver on the slant
2. Then look for the A/X tight end on the drag
3. Finally, find the X/Square receiver on the corner route

Overview: This is a good play to use to attack man coverage. The use of the motion will free up a lot of space for the slant to be wide open. You want to use a speedy receiver on that slant to help destroy man coverage.

Setup:

1. Put the A/X receiver on a streak
2. Put the X/Square receiver on an in route and smart route him

Reads:

1. The first read will be the RB/R1 running back on the table route
2. Then look for the B/O tight end on the corner route
3. Lastly, find the X/Square receiver on the in route coming across the field.

Overview: On this play we create a high low read on the right side of the field to flood zone coverage. The high low read on the right side of the field will draw the attention of the opponent’s user a lot leaving the back side in route wide open in the middle of the field.
