Formation: Gun Bunch Offset

Play: PA Dig Fork

Setup:

Against man coverage:

  1. Block the running back
  2. Smart route the B/Circle receiver
  3. Put the X/Square receiver on a drag route
  4. Put the A/X tight end on a drag route

Against zone coverage:

  1. Block the running back
  2. Put the X/Square receiver on an out route and smart route him
  3. Put the A/X tight end on a drag route
  4. Hitch, zig, or leave the RB/R1 receiver on his stock corner route

Reads:

Against man coverage:

  1. If there is no safety or user defender in a deep zone, the first read is the B/Circle receiver on the deep post
  2. Pick the open drag route if the B/Circle receiver is covered

Against zone coverage:

  1. Against cover 2, the first read is the tight end on the drag route and the second read is the RB/R1 receiver on a hitch or a zig
  2. Against cover 3 and cover 4, look for the B/Circle receiver for the cover 3 beater. Second and third reads are the tight end on the drag and the RB/R1 receiver on the hitch.

Overview: This play is a one-play touchdown against man coverage and cover 3. Make sure to have at least 90 deep route running on your outside receivers for this to work best. Run this play with the bunch on the wide side of the field.

Play: Double Post

Setup:

  1. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a drag

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your main read is the RB/R1 receiver on the drag. The second read is the running back. The third read is the B/Circle receiver on the post. The fourth read is the X/Square receiver on the corner route.
  2. Against zone coverage, your main read is the RB/R1 receiver on the drag and the second read is the running back. The third read is the A/X tight end in the flat. The fourth read is the B/Circle receiver on the post. Against hard flats, throw it to the X/Square receiver on the sideline.

Overview: One of the best plays in this formation, Double Post shreds every defense in the game. This play abuses the flats forcing your opponent to use hard flats, leaving the posts wide open. Remember to quick snap this play before your opponent can get any of their defensive adjustments in.

Play: Mesh Post

Setup:

Setup 1 (against man and zone):

  1. Put the X/Square receiver on an out route
  2. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a slant route
  3. Motion the RB/R1 receiver across the formation and snap it as he runs past the offensive tackle

Setup 2 (against zone only):

  1. Put the X/Square receiver on an out route
  2. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a hitch route

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your main read is the B/Circle receiver on the post. Your second read is the RB/R1 receiver on the slant route.
  2. Against zone coverage, your first read is the tight end on the flat route. Your next read is the hitch/slant route from the RB/R1 receiver. Your third read is the post from the B/Circle receiver and your fourth read is the running back.

Overview: Mesh Post is fantastic play for short yardage. We recommend running this play on 2nd or 3rd and short. It works well against man coverage, but it is more of a zone beater.

Play: Verts HB Under

Setup:

  1. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a drag route

Reads:

  1. Your main read is the RB/R1 receiver on a drag and your second read is the running back.
  2. Against zone coverage, motion out the B/Circle receiver throw it to him quick against cover 3 and cover 4. Against cover 2, wait until he runs past the flat zone and throw it to him deep on the sideline.
  3. Against cover 3 and cover 4, the A/X tight end is your final read up the seam.

Overview: Verticals is a classic madden play and it is just as deadly this year. Make sure to run this play with your bunch on the wide side of the field.

Play: Z Spot N Go

Setup:

  1. Smart route the RB/R1 receiver
  2. Put the B/Circle receiver on a streak route

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your main read is RB/R1 on the corner route. Your next read is the X/Square receiver on his corner route.
  2. Against zone coverage, your first read is the A/X tight end on the flat route. Your next read is the RB/R1 on the corner route on the sideline. Your third read is the B/Circle receiver on the streak and your final read is the running back the flat route. Against hard flats, the X/Square receiver will be wide open on the sideline.

Overview: This play is the best cover 2 beater in this formation. Make sure to run this play with the bunch on the wide side of the field.

Play: Flood

Setup:

  1. Block the running back
  2. Put the A/X tight end on a drag route
  3. Put the B/Circle receiver on a flat/out route

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your first read is the tight on the drag. Your next read is the RB/R1 receiver on his deep out route and your third read is the X/Square receiver on the deep in route.
  2. Against cover 2, your first read is the tight end on the drag. Your next read is the B/Circle receiver on his flat route.
  3. Against cover 3 and cover 4, your first read is the B/Circle receiver on an out route. Your next read is tight end on the drag. Your last read is the X/Square receiver on his deep in route.

Overview: This play is another man and zone killer. It attacks the flats really well and destroys man coverage. Make sure to throw deep in and deep out routes as soon as the receiver makes his cut against man coverage.

Play: Dig Return

Setup:

  1. Put the running back on a wheel route
  2. Put the B/Circle receiver on a slant route
  3. Motion the B/Circle receiver across the formation and snap it after he runs past the offensive tackle
  4. For variation against zone, put the B/Circle receiver on a curl and put the running back on an option route. Motion the B/Circle receiver out towards the sideline and snap it before he sets his feet.

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your main read is the B/Circle receiver on the slant. Your second read is the RB/R1 receiver on the deep in route. Your final read is the X/Square receiver the double move route.
  2. Against zone coverage, your first read is the tight end on the flat route. Your next read is the B/Circle receiver on the slant/curl route. Your third read is the running back on the wheel route.
  3. Against cover 2, your final read is the X/Square receiver on the double move route.

Overview: This play is one of the best man beaters in this formation. It is great at attacking the flats against zone as well.

Setup:

Against man coverage:

  1. Block the running back
  2. Smart route the RB/R1 receiver
  3. Put the B/Circle receiver on a streak
  4. Put the tight end on a drag route

Against zone coverage:

  1. Put the B/Circle receiver on a streak

Reads:

  1. Against man coverage, your main read is the RB/R1 receiver on his corner route. Your second read is the tight end on a drag. Your third read is the X/Square on the curl route.
  2. Against zone coverage, your first read is the tight end on the flat route. Your second read is the RB/R1 receiver. Your last resort read is the running back on his check down route.

Overview: Another great cover 2 beater that torches man coverage as well. Make sure to run this play with the bunch on the wide side of the field.

Overview: Carolina has a variety of good shotgun run to audible to from Gun Bunch Offset. If you have a mobile quarterback, you can use the QB Draw from the Gun Bunch Quads formation as well.

Reads:

  1. Your main read is the RB/R1 receiver on his wheel route. Your second read is the X/Square receiver up the seam. Your third and fourth reads are the tight end on his hook route and the running back on the wheel route.

Overview: This play is primarily used against cover 2 in the RedZone. Make sure to run this play with your bunch on the short side of the field.

Play: Mesh Post (Goal line/2pt conversion play)

Setup:

Setup 1:

  1. Put the X/Square receiver on an out route
  2. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a zig
  3. Smart route the B/Circle receiver and motion him towards the sideline

Setup 2:

  1. Put the X/Square receiver on an out route
  2. Put the RB/R1 receiver on a hitch
  3. Put the B/Circle receiver on a hitch and motion him towards the sideline

Reads:

  1. Against cover 2, your main read is B/Circle receiver on his post route. Your second read is the running back in the back of the endzone.
  2. Against cover 3 and cover 4, your main read is the B/Circle receiver on the hitch route. Against cover 3, your second read is the running back.

Overview: This play is fantastic on the goal line and for 2-point conversions. It has two routes that great into great spots against every type of zone coverage.

I found the first one a lot more efficient with B and Rb on smart routes it helps glitch the CB for an open corner route

I found it really nice when I block the tight end against SS Blitz so we don’t get a bunch of pressure.

HI! for “Verts HB Under” how do we motion are receiver like you, because when I do it, the game does not alow me to hike it till he is set
