How To Beat Tampa 2 With A MLB In A Deep Blue Zone

One of the most common defenses higher level players face in Madden 18 is a Tampa 2 defense with a middle linebacker in a deep blue zone.

In today’s Madden School tip, Arozy is going over a way to torch that coverage deep.

Playbook: Green Bay Packers

Formation: Gun Bunch

Play: Curl Flat

Setup:

1. Block your running back
2. Streak your tight end
3. Put your B/circle receiver on an out route
4. Put your X/Square receiver on a drag route

Reads:

1. Your first read is the A/X receiver on a corner route
2. Then look to the X/square receiver on the drag route

Overview: This play is very effective in beating a cover 2 coverage with a deep blue in the middle. Because of the deep blue we can’t bomb this coverage, but this gives us a change to pick up a lot of yards against that style of defense.
