madden 11 tampa bay buccaneers

Raheem Morris has his work cut out for him with the Bucs, but what he has done in the offseason is very promising. Let’s start with the offense, led by 2nd year man Josh Freeman. Freeman showed signs of being a true franchise QB, but also showed off his inexperience with mutli-int games. Granted, his only weapon was Kellen Winslow, who had a great season with over 900 receiving yards. The run game was so so with Caddy, Ward, and Graham, but in 2010 that run game should be better as the Bucs have added more weapons. What are those weapons? Arrelious Benn, an All-American WR from Illinois, and Mike Williams, the all star WR from Syracuse that was kicked off the team (even though he will say he quit the team) will provide some sparks on offense for Bucs, not to mention helping out Freeman find a target other than Winslow. The offensive line is mostly good and balanced, and should help Freeman stay off his back. Don’t expect too much offensive fireworks throughout the Bucs’ season.

The defense should be the most improved defense in 2010, as the Bucs did a great job drafting future guys for the defensive line with Gerald McCoy and Brian Price. The front 7 should be improved with those two guys, and the LB corps looks to improve on last season. The secondary isn’t too impressive, with Pascatelli and Tanard Jackson leading the safety position, and veteran Ronde Barber and sometimes good Aqib Talib, who has shown signs of being a true pro corner and an inexperienced CB as well. The offseason acquisition of Sean Jones may bolster the secondary though, and will probably replace Sabby at safety. The defense had some rough times last year, but every season is a learning process, and Morris may just get the renowned Tampa 2 working nicely with his current group of people.

Prediction – Hard to say as their success lies within Freeman’s ability to pass down the field and whether the defense can stop offenses. being in the tough NFC South, which has some very tough offenses, both passing in the Saints and rushing in Panthers. I can see the Bucs finishing last, but with an ok record. Not great, but better than last season. Not to mention they also play Chiefs, Browns, and Lions.

6-10 last place in NFC South

  1. This guy is clueless. Phillips was on a contract year in 09' and was not retained(Old news). The safeties will be Tanard Jackson at FS and Sean Jones at SS. Talib shut down some good receivers last season including Randy Moss and Steve Smith. I believe Tanard and Aqib are both poised for a Pro-Bowl season.

  2. Phillips isn't even on The Bucs roster anymore…the safeties are led by potential All-Pro Tanard Jackson…and look for new acqusition Sean Jones to replace Sabby Piscatelli at SS.

  3. thiswriter is stupid….wow

  4. ahhh bad news sorry guys i was led to believe he was still on the team, i had completely forgotten about sean jones and jackson since i dont follow the bucs alot
