Does Reggie Wayne deserve a new contract?
He’s making about 6 million a year, while Brandon Marshall is making 10 million a year, and Larry Fitzgerald 10 million a year also. Wayne is without a question in the same class as these WRs and has been a top WR for many years now. Wayne’s routes and hands are just as good or better than all the WRs in the NFL. I believe Reggie Wayne deserves a new contract that’s equal to or even better than Marshall’s or Fitzgerald. Do I believe he will get the contract?
…..No, Bethea and Brackett both got big deals this offseason and Robert Mathis, arguably the best left end in the NFL, is still without a new contract. As well as Peyton’s deal, which is top priority seeing that it ends next season. Colts’ owner Jim Irsay has already said he wanted to make Peyton the highest paid player ever, so I don’t think there will be enough money for Reggie Wayne even though he rightfully deserves it. So hopefully Reggie Wayne and the Colts can meet somewhere in the middle and get a deal done so Reggie and the Colts can both move forward and start working for next season.
