i play as the philadelphia eagles. my friend and i like to play some madden for fun occasionally, except sometimes he just gets really annoying. he plays as the colts, and every down uses at least 4 wide receivers. i use the quarter defence and his players still get open. any ideas on how to stop it? also, whats a good way for stopping comebacks, or ins/outs

Well, first thing I would tell you is not to use alot of man defense. Man defense in madden 09 is pretty terrible. Dont be afraid to bring some heat at him every once in awhile. Mix up the defenses you use against him.....try some Dime and Nickel to get another defensive lineman in there for an extra pass rusher. The last thing I will suggest is to manually try to stop some of his routes.....if he has a go to guy, EXAMPLE- Throwin alot of 5yd in/outs to Clark, maybe play as a Linebacker and try to guard that route yourself. There are alot of BETTER players on here than me so hopefully they can help you a little better than I can. Good luck..... P.S.- Post your defensive playbook so some of the better players here can help you a little better. _________________

Yea bro. Man D is a joke on 09. Mix in some formations. Zone blitzes, cover 3, cover 2. And i would manualy start guarding his guy that he continually throws that 5 yard route to. This will improve your stick skills!!

i think the best def. pb is ravens 34 and some 46 also ne pb is good these 2 have sertin blitzes that others dont. imo im a strait 34 def player myself and its so much better then 43 for me anyways.

i would say manually blitz a db to the side he rolls out on dont make it obvious tho cuz he'll run the other way. if hes been throwin screens all game, playmaker your Lb to guard the flats, shade your safeties to the middle/sidelines, and take an inside DB and manually get after him. mainly reason his receivers get open is cuz u got a 3 man rush and hes got 5 men blockin, if you cant put more heat on him, hell have all day to throw meaning he can complete passes on any coverage you play thats not getting any pressure on him.

| if hes rolling out 3-4 CB Dogs Man.. play FS cover the deeper routes, he will have to learn not to roll out if u use this... and u really cant stop the curls, they are wicked in 09 if he runs them the right way... _________________ Sign up at zebra gamer, talk about all your favorite games with other gamers. | never run man, always user control a LB unless you have good stick then control a safety but never control a DLinemen cause your not making a impact with him. throw different blitzes at him and make sure you cover the parts of the field that are open or suspect. but when playing a person that likes to pass and also has peyton manning, you jus need to makes sure you can pick up on what he is doing and makes a defensive gameplan to stop him |
