Madden 15 Defensive Strategy: Nickel 3-3-5 – 1 QB Contain

In today’s Madden 15 defensive strategy, SnA Exclusive is going over a way to bring consistent pressure while rushing only 4 guys.  The play, 1 QB Contain, is found in the Nickel 3-3-5 formation.

This video is going to cover 3 different topics, but we are primarily focuses on the blitz:

  1. Nickel 3-3-5 – 1 QB Contain Pressure
  2. Covering drag routes with man coverage
  3. Using a “double spy” to contain QB’s
Madden 15 Blitz: Nickel 3-3-5 1 QB Contain + A Good Way To Stop Drag Routes

Playbook: Baltimore (or any that has the Nickel 3-3-5)

Formation: Nickel 3-3-5

Play: 1 QB Contain

Setup:

  1. Pinch defensive line

Overview:  Bringing edge heat in Madden 15 is something you need to do to succeed, and when you can bring 4 people and get consistent pressure, it forces the offense to block more people or adjust their scheme. This play allows you to bring 4 (or less, actually, if you spy the RE) and get consistent heat off the right edge with solid man coverage and also a built in QB spy.

How do you man up your safety on the WRs. I ccan’t seem to get it right. I hit “X” for individual then hit the icon for the individual. But I don’t see where it says man him up or anything similar. Thanks for your help

Bring up the defensive settings (I have Xbox, it’s clicking the RS) choose individual adjustments, man coverage on the stick and then after it will ask you which receiver you want them to man up on.

The looks simple and fast but what i noticed quickly is, that the play is dependent on TE driven offenses such as the 9ers with Davis. Good blitz on plays that are for sure going to line up a TE to pass to.
