Madden 13 Blitz: Big Nickel Bear Cover 2 Man

Madden 13 Blitz: Big Nickel Bear Cover 2 Man

In today’s Madden 13 defensive video tip, we are going over a way of bringing heat from right up the middle with either a 3 or 5 man rush.  We will go over the 5 man rush first and then the 3 man version.  This play can be stopped if your opponent blocks an extra man or 2 as well as some slide protections.

Playbook: 46

Formation: Big Nickel Bear

Play: Cover 2 Man

Setup:

  1. Hot route your MLB to blitz and place him over the left tackle
  2. (Optional) Hot route the DT to a yellow zone and the LE to a purple zone

Madden-School.com Pro Tip: This play works best if you have a good and decently fast right end.

You have 2 deep safeties that you can hot route into man coverage and take that away very easily. It is just your preferences whether you want to do that and have 1 deep safety or not do it and have 2 deep.

You can slide protect to the left, or block a tight end or running back to stop the blitz

I love this d. i mix it in with the 3-4 to stop the run. i find some people can pass against the cover 2 man and some can pass against the cover 3 but if you mix it in it is an amazing A-gap blitz. Only work with a fast RE. it is a huge part of my d-cheme and i now have 855 ranked pts. Beauty tip.
