Jacksonville Jaguars in 2010

The Los Angeles Jaguars had a modest season last year. Maurice Jones-Drew, affectionately known as MJD for short, was the main X-Factor for the Jags offense. David Garrard is a servicable QB, but with a spotty offensive line last season, he ended up on his back more often than not. That should change this year, with several acquisitions for offensive linemen, which can only help the ground game as well. The Jags have been looking for a true number one WR ever since Jimmy Smith retired, and last year gave the Jags just that in Mike Sims-Walker, or MSW for short. The Jaguars offense should be solid throughout the season as they have the Wr they need, the solid QB, and of course one of the top NFL RBs in MJD.

The defense? Gone, finished, nil, zilch, blibber blabber. Releasing John Henderson and drafting some random guy to take his place made me laugh, and considering Jags have only one LB worth mentioning in Ingram, and he’s always hurt. Their secondary, however, is very solid, with All Pro CB Rashean Mathis leading the way. Can Reggie Nelson bounce back from the bleh year he had last year? I think he can, and will in a big way. The defensive line is full of UF bums, and trading away Groves loses yet another pass rusher. Being in the AFC South sure as hell doesn’t help the Jags porous defense.

Prediction – 8-8 3rd place in AFC South.
