basically it's NFL style football. So you don't call any plays that would explote the ai in anyway. It's gets alot mor indepth then this but thats what it is in anut shell

Is it strictly playing against the computer or is it playing against others online w/o using all the "nano" type plays?

Sim style is playing against the opponent. Computer, friend, foe, or alien. Its playing strategic situational football. Not technically nano's (I dont use them) but anything that you probably wouldnt see in the NFL. (Rushing no DLs or even one player). Mixing up your plays on offense and defense.

It basically means you are restricted to only doing things that you would see on Sundays, and that you're unable to think for yourself.

Coming up with your own ideas is frowned upon.

sim is a way of playing that closely resembles wha tu see on sundays in actual football. EA hasnt gotten it right so there are a few things that need to be restricted to keep the gameplay pure. playing madden deeper than what it is.

Ash, you pretty funny. I dont even understand why you are even in this section if you so unhappy with SIM style football. you play your style and we will play ours. I enjoy playing sim style against cheesers too. Much more rewarding smacking them in the mouth when they want to go for it in the first quarter because they are able to think for themselves.....Perhaps instead of bashing it, play someone who is good at it and see if you can hang playing your style.

Sim football isnt aout 4th down rules alone. Its about mixing it up. Ive played quite a few lobby games and I think you can tell from the first offensive snap what you are going to get. If they start off in 4 wide. Expect a non sim game. Just my experience. You wont see more than 5 runs all game.

Running the same two money plays with the no-huddle all game and quick throwing to your HB on a flat or one of two WR doing crossing routes. And doing literally no running plays. That is the type of garbage that is unsim. I love beating these guys in lobby games with a balanced attack while playing like a real football team.

Snaping the ball and consitently running all over the field withi your qb isnt sim...

So staying in the pocket until rushed or a designed sneak are sim.

Too many times you see people running like 10-15 yards back and throw across body to cross receivers to take advantage of crappy AI..
