Default Saints PB - Bubble Screen?

Can anyone get the Bubble Screen working out of the Singleback Doubles formation in the Saints book? I know it doesn't work against man but even in zone, I can't get it working unless I can somehow make a guy miss after the catch. Any suggestions would be appreciated cause it's a unique play that can I think can be deadly if used correctly...but I don't know which way that is

I have never gotten those plays to work consistently either. Amusingly, the bubble screen/pump fake draw from that formation works very well.

Similar idea: if the slot receiver is uncovered you could formation audible to slants and hit him right at the snap (just watch for cover 2 or even the OLB in a flat zone depending on where he is positioned.)

I love that pump draw too. I didn't think of just doing a slant with him uncovered. I just really want to get this play to work lol cause they work really well in real life

That's the problem, Madden and Real Life are 2 different things. But what really works well if you audible a WR into a outside slant then do a quick throw. Try labbing that in practice. But IMO I would rather just do a WR screen instead.

If it was in some sort of trips formation and the inside receiver was the one running the screen it could prob be successful, atleast against a zone, but the CB that the wide-out is supposed to block always gets off the block and just tackles me or just doesn't get blocked at all and picks it off or knocks it away. You're prob right Picked, it's just the formation.

I use WR screens in every playbook I can and have had the most success against cover 3 and zone blitzes and against man or cover 2 I attack deep.

I have used the New Orleans Playbook since day one when this game came out. I think it is the best playbook in the game by far.

I have never been a fan of this play though, it always is covered and gets picked off when I try it.

I've ran a few bubble screens when I was doing my breakdown of MIN's playbook (still need to finish that thing ). Basically you are going to have to notice that they are running either a cover 4 or a fire zone blitz (cover 3). You need to be able to get a little space on the sidelines. If you get the right defense to run it against you just pass lead up I believe and throw a bullet right as you get the snap. You should catch it, pick up 1 block and if you make the remaining guy miss you can pick up good gains. If you don't make the guy miss you are usually stuck with a 3-5 yard gain. Against Man or any play that has a flat zone (sometimes curl to flat zone will do it as well but its usually safer) it will usually be a play for a loss.

I know I just joined today, but believe me when I say this is one of my favorite plays in the Saints PB.

By itself, it's risky and rarely works, but if you streak the receiver doing the screen, and put your HB on a drag, essentially making him the screen man. Wait till the HB gets towards the flats on his route, bullet it to him and get your chunks of yards.

works best against zone for me, but can work if you time the pass right against man as well
