How To Double Team Receivers

How or what is the best way double team receivers in this game? I've had people do that to me before and I'm not quite sure how it is done.

Its under a defensive hot route. You go to the strat pad then press down with the right TS and then pick the WR you want that defender to cover.

Most pbs have specific plays that tell you which player they are doubling (Double X, Double Z, Double Slot, Double TE). Otherwise use the strategy pad
