Formation Subs Will Be in Madden 17

Formation subs are back for Madden 17.  EA Sports confirmed via Twitter today that formation subs will be included in a day one patch to Madden NFL 17.

For those of you unfamiliar with formation subs, basically they allow you to make automatic substitutions based on which formation you are in.

For example, if you wanted to sub in a tight end for a receiver but only when you are in Singleback Ace, you could do that.  Or if you wanted to use a backup defensive end every time you are in the Dime Normal formation, you could do that as well.

Formation subs are a feature that used to be in previous Madden NFL games but was taken out.  Many fans have been asking for it’s return to the game over the last couple of years.

Are formations subs something you plan on using in Madden 17?  Let us know in the comments.

Without question. I always felt like it added more realism to the game and allowed me to really feel like I had ownership over my roster and how I wanted to attack both sides of the ball based on the formations I was running from play to play. It always just seemed more authentic to me and I can’t wait to use them again this season!

yawn, this is only good for scrub arcade types. Tony Gonzalez lined up at wide out in singleback ace, please like that would work in real life. In Madden yeah, because the game sucks but seriously they already have this its called “packages”
